We started 3 years ago with a new full service full digital laboratory. We fully focused on digital dentures, what was not fully ready in that time. So we made a big journey to develop and search for the best workflows. But we still missed the perfect connection to the patient, we where able to make beautiful digital dentures but where not fully able to translate this digital workflow to a real esthetical and communication tool for the patient. For me as a denturist the personal contact and high level of service is the most important part of a successful treatment for a full denture. Fabulous Smiles book have a huge impact on my daily practice, I do not start with impression anymore, I just start with a nice cup of coffee, a photo of the patient and the fabulous book on the coffee table to then discuss with 3shape Smiledesign their new smiles. This first contact gives the patient so much more confidence and comfort for the treatment and they now know exactly how their new smile will look like before we even touched there mouth. The fabulous smiles project is a amazing tool and totally changed the way we start our treatment. It doesn’t become more natural than this.

The Fabulous Smiles book/libraries have inspired me to look at shape/symmetry differently. Since the majority of the cases I design are full mouth restorations I am always looking not only for esthetics but more importantly function. In the past many of the PRETTY stock libraries looked good but took a lot of time to get them to function well. They say most ceramists can see 3 different shapes in their minds eye and true masters have 10. To me it’s exactly the same with CAD. So often we go back to our favorite libraries because it’s easy and we know them well. It has been a blessing to have these new FAB libraries added to 3shape for numerous reasons but my favorite one is they keep challenging me to develop my minds eye with the goal of recreating nature.
